[ Johanna shoves her own phone back into her jacket pocket without looking for a response and heads for the stairs down to the street -- and fails to notice that her phone autocompleted "The" to thevampirelestat rather than The Seventh Crown of the Seventh Demon King. She figures if the trains aren't still running this late, she can just walk. District 3 is far enough away that she might get herself properly worn out by the time she gets home. ]

Don't get him wrong, it's not unwelcome but it is certainly a surprise to get a message from her out of the blue like this. It makes sense, of course; after all, she's already shown him how easy it is for her to overlook certain obvious factors for the sake of not making things weird or difficult and.. well, if he gets to forget their conversation at the party entirely, or maybe even have their slate wiped entirely clean so they can do it over, then who is he to turn his nose up at it?

The whole situation has been sitting weird with him, anyway, so obviously he's jumping at the opportunity.

He's not far from the university already, and he gently reaches out with his senses to try and hear her heartbeat or her thoughts in the painful quiet of the evening, even as he replies. ]

the package is no larger than two palms put together, and when picked up, weighs no more than standard flashlight. when unwrapped, within is a miniature version of the stained glass kaleidoscope that adorns the roof of the planetarium. the handcrank generates the power needed to bleed light through the opening, upon which its patterns are cast across the ceiling: a setting sun, a golden field stretching endlessly framed by two, towering trees that spiral into the cutting dusk of a weeping sky. pinpricks of silver light seeps through along the cracks of the sky proper, but not a star is to be seen.

With time constraints, I could only make but a pair of these devices, so you must forgive the quality of the imagery. However, I've always wondered if an image cast inside the lid of your coffin would bring you pleasant dreams. These devices can be mounted for ceilings as well, though I will need time to find the right images and stain the right kind of glass to compose it.

Lastly, if I may ask you for a favour: wait twenty-four hours, then tell Ghost the words 'pigpen', then ask her for me what took her so long, hm?

[Unfortunately for literally everyone, Ghost's idea of what makes a good gift is...sometimes. It's. It's really questionable. And often brightly-colored. And almost always ridiculously tacky.

Case in point: the box that Lestat receives contains TWO OF the world's tackiest snap bracelets in whatever hideous pattern you feel is most befittingly atrocious. Unfortunately, he'll likely discover that there's a note beneath.

Still, I felt like this might be something you wouldn't think of yourself, but something that I think would be good for you. Either way, despite the fact that Lestat has had some rather difficult conversations as of late and is reeling from the whole... experiment thing, he's determined to not make either option any worse if it happens to be the case. ]

I never got the chance to thank you for that book you gifted me. I hadn't heard of scrap booking before — or, at least, I'd heard of the concept but not by such a name, and I'd never had the opportunity to try it for myself. It sent me down quite the rabbit hole, you know. I'll soon have Louis cursing your name for all the supplies I'll no doubt scatter the apartment with.
