[ Sure, he can't say he knows everything about the other guy. Far from it, even though Daniel has already been plenty pleasantly surprised by the things Lestat has been willing to share with him.
But he likes to think he knows the other enough to be able to write this fairly confidently. An overly perfectionistic guy, who likes keeping himself busy? Sounds like Lestat. ]
I've been enjoying the media store ever since it opened for similar reasons. It really helps fill up the moments I'm not spending at the diner. [ He pauses, hesitates. The man's fingers linger above the keys for a moment, like he isn't sure whether to go for this or not.
But, despite Lestat's brave attempts to keep them to happier topics, Daniel can't help but write: ]
Lately I have been thinking a whole lot though. I am sure many of us have.

That last comment, though... Lestat finds himself staring at it for a few long moments as he tries to parse exactly what Daniel means by it. Does he want Lestat to pry, is that the whole reason for his message in the first place? Is he merely making conversation? Is he hoping Lestat will divulge something, and if so, what? So many variables, and with Lestat unable to read Daniel's expression or body language, he finds himself frustratingly at a loss. ]
Yes, I suppose we all have a lot to think about, don't we? What's been on your mind, mon ami?
[ And then: ]
We could meet for coffee, if you'd like to trade blows.

Let's have coffee. Without the karate.
[ Contrary to popular belief, Daniel's life is actually pretty okay without karate fights. It may be one of the few upsides about his stay here in the city - no karate rivals trying to hunt him down. ]
You can come to the diner. I'll have coffee ready by the time you get there.
[ And Daniel lives up to his word. When Lestat makes his way over there - late enough at night that there's no one else left at the diner -, Daniel is already sitting there in one of the booths with two mugs of hot coffee on the table. The temperature is the most important part of it, after all, since he knows that's the only part of coffee the other man can actually enjoy, so Daniel made sure it's nice and steamy hot.
He'll give the other a small, tired smile and a slight wave, as if to greet him that way and beckon him over. ]
