They're hardly ever interested in mortals unless it directly involves their own self-interest, or they could use them as pawns in whatever divine game of chess they're playing with each other..... He can't imagine anyone staring at Hades with the same sort of mournful yearning Lestat had stared at the water with. What kind of person was this goddess-queen? And what had happened to her, to make Lestat so sad? Is an entity like that really able to die?
